What is Disney Vacation Club?
Disney Vacation Club provides members with their own slice of the Disney experience.
Disney’s Vacation Club offers you the flexibility to travel to any of Disney’s twelve resorts, spas, and villas, and clubs, whenever you would like, and for however long. You can also choose which unit you would like to stay in be it a studio, villa, or vacation home. Points can also be applied to a number of different non-Disney vacations.
While vacation clubs can be thought of as a type of timeshare, vacation clubs offer members an unprecedented level of flexibility when it comes to choosing the vacation destination, as well as the time of travel.
How Does it Work?
Disney Vacation Club operates on a points-based system that allows members to apply their points towards any of Disney’s resorts.
When you buy into the Disney Vacation Club, you purchase a set number of vacation points. At the end of the year you will be given another set of points in the same amount that you were already given. These points can be applied towards your next Disney vacation at designated locations.
There are eight Disney Vacation Club resorts at Walt Disney World; Animal Kingdom Villas, Bay Lake Tower, Beach Club Villas, BoardWalk Villas, Villas at Grand Floridian, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs and Wilderness Lodge. There is one Disney Vacation Club resort at Disneyland in California; Villas at Grand Californian, and Disney Vacation Club resorts in three beach locations; Oahu, Hawaii, Vero Beach, Florida and Hilton Head, South Carolina.
If you purchase your Disney Vacation Club points directly from Disney, you can also use those points at Disney resorts in California, Florida, France, Hong Kong, Japan, the Disney Cruise Line, as well as a number of other non-Disney vacations around the world. Choose from beautiful accommodations near stunning beaches, alpine ski lodges, golf courses, spa retreats, and more!
The time of year that you travel, location you choose, as well as the size of the unit you choose will all affect the points cost. If you want to book a vacation that requires more points, you can add additional points by purchasing or even renting them.
Disney Vacation Club members receive some additional benefits, including discounts at certain Disney World and Disneyland restaurants and shops, free high-speed internet in some resorts, and discounts on Walt Disney World Annual Passes.
Many vacationers find that a guaranteed yearly vacation in one of the happiest places on earth makes a Disney Vacation Club membership an excellent value, and a great vacation club to buy into.
